Thunder Logic and Zone to meet in ESEA Advanced grand final

47 teams entered, and now only two remain — and their eyes are set on MDL.

The ESEA Advanced semi-finals have concluded, with Zone and Thunder Logic coming out on top. Overcoming Variance and BBC respectively, these two teams will face off tomorrow to determine which team will secure direct promotion to the MDL.

Thunder Logic started off the action on their map pick of Mirage by winning the pistol and the following four rounds. BBC would claim a round of their own after this, however Thunder Logic quickly recovered and continued to pile up rounds, ending the half 10-5. On their CT-side, Thunder Logic won the pistol round again and took the score up to 13-5. BBC would manage to find four more rounds of their own but in the end, Thunder Logic took their map pick with a confident 16-9 scoreline.

On Train, Thunder Logic again won the opening pistol using it to claim four rounds before BBC were to answer back. After Thunder Logic picked up a fifth round, BBC would win four rounds in a row to tie up the score 5-5. Unfortunately for BBC, they would not win another round on their T-side as Thunder Logic closed out the half 10-5. After transitioning to their CT-side BBC were able to turn the tables, putting up a solid defense that would force a third map, taking Train 16-14.

BBC started Inferno on the right foot, claiming eight out of the first ten rounds, though Thunder Logic closed the gap and ended the half only slightly behind 6-9. Thunder Logic were able to tie the score off the back of yet another pistol win, and following this they put up a very strong T-side that only allowed BBC to claim a handful of rounds. With this, Thunder Logic advanced to the finals with a 16-12 finish on Inferno. During the series, Adam "Ange" Milian and Chris "Slash" Petersen led the way for Thunder Logic, claiming 60 kills each alongside dual 1.17 ratings.

The second semifinals matchup, saw Variance take on Zone. On Mirage, the first half ended in a dead heat, with Zone narrowly ahead by one round. Transitioning onto their CT-side, Zone would win the opening pistol and commenced a series of lead switches between the two teams, ultimately ending in Zone just barely edging out Mirage 16-14.

On Nuke, Zone completely obliterated Variance's T-side, as they claimed 14 rounds on the defense. Moving onto their CT-side, Variance were able to claim two rounds however, a 13 round deficit was too steep a hill as Zone booked their ticket to the finals with a 16-3 finish on Nuke.
