compLexity's new headquarters, the GameStop Performance Center

GameStop partners with compLexity, Envy, OpTic parent, and more

The retailer has partnered with the three Texas-based esports organizations in a bid to enter the space.

Earlier today GameStop, the world's largest video game retailer, announced a slew of esports-centric partnerships with compLexity, Envy, Infinite Esports, Matcherino and the Collegiate Star League (CSL). The company is headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, where the three esports organizations have also laid down their roots.

The largest partnership appears to be with compLexity, with GameStop becoming the title sponsor of the organization's "new state-of-the-art headquarters at The Star in Frisco, Texas."

compLexity CEO Jason Lake had the following to say on the new partnership:

The opening of the GameStop Performance Center represents Complexity’s vision to further professionalize the esports industry and leverage the learnings from the Dallas Cowboys who also call The Star home. We are creating a world-class facility that will engage fans both in person and online and positively impact the entire industry for decades to come.

All three organizations have been in the news often lately, with Envy retooling their roster with former compLexity men Brad "ANDROID" Fodor and streamer Sam "s0m" Oh, and compLexity picking up the services of Hunter "SicK" Mims (and a spot at the ECS Season 7 Finals) from Rogue.
