no_one finished top of the board in FPL for the first time

FPL & FPL-C Recap - no_one tops the board

After many, many months of FPL, no_one picks up his first weekly win.

The third week of FPL for March has come to a close, with three players topping the board with a large point lead over their opposition. Matthew "no_one" Congdon took the first place slot having played 27 matches, ending the week with a five-game winstreak to edge out the top spot over Gustavo "yeL" Knittel by eight points.

Here are the top 20 players from this past week:

Rank Player Points Prize
1. United States Matthew "no_one" Congdon 200 $3000

18. United States Daniel "vice" Kim 122
19. United States Noah "Nifty" Francis 114
20. Brazil Ricardo "boltz" Prass 114

Although the players at the top of the board ran away with the lead, the mid and lower portions of the top twenty saw heavy contention as a number of ties in points marked the end of the week. A three-way tie for tenth place saw Austin "Cooper-" Abadir take the $450 prize away from Michael "dapr" Gulino and Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue as he won a higher percentage of his games, while the lower-end of the board saw a tight race for players to sneak into the top 20.

Notably, players from MIBR and Liquid are absent as they were attending BLAST Pro Series São Paulo this past week, with the Brazilian roster set to continue their absence as they make their way to Shanghai, China for StarSeries i-League Season 7. The $500,000 event is slated to kick off on March 30th, with NRG being the sole North American team in attendance.

The top five players in FPL-C for the second week of March are:

Rank Player Points Prize
1. Canada Shawn "Magowi" O'Malley 1,148 $1250
2. United States Duncan "raz" Lee 1,134 $600
3. United States Tim "Hashy" Fisher 1,098 $300
4. United States Caleb "opportunity" Davis 1,096 $200
5. United States Nolan "bite" Hunstad 1,078 $150

None of the top five players from last week return to the top of the board in FPL-C this time around, with Shawn "Magowi" O'Malley snagging the top spot with a fourteen point lead over Duncan "raz" Lee. An incredible fourteen-game winstreak allowed for Magowi to steal away first place, winning 22 of his 31 games compared to raz's 23 won out of 35 played.

An even tighter race between third and fourth place saw Tim "Hashy" Fisher edge out an extra $100 over Caleb "opportunity" Davis, who ended the week just two points below Hashy.
