Singularity and INTZ finish top in Pinnacle Cup
The second day of the ECS Pinnacle Cup has concluded, and after two rounds of play the top two seeded teams from the event have been confirmed. With two rounds of play, a lot of games occurred.
The first matches of the day saw Singularity, Denial, FURIA and INTZ all secure wins over their opponents in the 1-0 round, sending them to the 2-0 round. The closest match came between Bad News Bears and Singularity, where after a 19-17 overtime win on Inferno for Singularity, they had to bounce back from losing Train 16-11 for a 16-7 Overpass win.
In the 0-1 round, MASSIVEimpact, Mythic, Infamous and iNTACT all secured wins in their 0-1 matches. The closest of these came between MASSIVEimpact and Old Guys Club where MASSIVEimpact sandwiched their map wins (Train 16-13 and Inferno 16-11) around a loss on Cache (16-10) to put their tournament lives in a more comfortable position.

This led to the third round of matches. The first match to commence in the 2-0 bracket was between Singularity and FURIA, and it was the closest of the two games. It was FURIA who opened the proceedings with a 19-17 overtime win on Cache where Andrei "arT" Piovezan had a strong performance. The next two maps were where Singularity made it count, coming back on a close Mirage to win 16-14 before securing Overpass relatively comfortably 16-10, the last map partially thanks to Ricky "floppy" Kemery hitting 123.4 ADR.

Between Denial and INTZ, it was a much shorter game. The Brazilians opened the series on Train, and after a close first half they had a much more dominant second for a 16-10 win on the map. Nuke was a far closer game, with barely a sliver between the two at the end of each half. After an overtime, it was INTZ through as 2-0 victors having won 19-17 over the South Africans on the map.

These results means that INTZ and Singularity sit at the top of the Pinnacle Cup as the highest seeds, and will be third or fourth in line for an invite to one of the ECS Weekly Series.
In the 0-2 bottom seed matches, Old Guys Club and Zone played first. This was a fairly close series, as both teams looked to avoid elimination. Mirage was the opener, and Zone claimed a strong 16-10 win on Mirage before dropping Cache 16-8 to the Old Guys Club. A final map substitution for Zone on Inferno, with Nathan "madcow" Retterath replacing Nathan "leaf" Orf, proved beneficial for them as they secured Inferno with another strong 16-11 score.

The other effective elimination match saw Final Feature and Hysteria face off to return for the next round of games. Also a close series, Overpass was a close opener where Final Feature narrowly went ahead of their opponents for a 16-13 win. Cache came next, and this was a relatively strong win for Hysteria as they marched through 16-9. The final map was the closest, and staving off a last ditch comeback from Hysteria, Final Feature claimed it 16-14 to stay alive.
