Immortals to forfeit remaining ECS matches, finish in last place

The organization that once housed major finalists will see their ECS matches overturned, concluding their run in the season.

Immortals will forfeit their remaining matches in Season 4 of FACEIT's ECS League, according to a tweet from the ECS Twitter account. Their past matches will also be overturned as a result of being unable to field more than 60% of their registered roster, resulting in a 16-0 for the opposing side. Wins against Ghost, Luminosity, and NRG will be reversed.

This news follows the departure of Lucas "steel" Lopes to Liquid, who joined the organization just prior to IEM Oakland. Ricardo "boltz" Prass also awaits an official transfer to SK Gaming — the team has already won EPICENTER 2017 in St. Petersburg and placed 3rd-4th at IEM Oakland while the player is in negotiations.

Two Immortals players are also facing visa issues, and have been unable to return to the United States to play for the organization. The remaining duo of Bruno "shz" Martinelli and João "horvy" Horvath are reportedly in negotiations with Tempo Storm, and are likely to be acquired by the organization for their own Brazilian squad.

The team will finish Season 4 in last place, but will retain an ECS Season 5 Promotion slot where they can attempt to qualify for the league's next season if they still have a Counter-Strike roster.

Immortals currently consists of:

  • Brazil Caio "zqkS" Fonseca
  • Brazil Lucas "destiny" Bullo
  • Brazil João "horvy" Horvath
  • Brazil Bruno "shz" Martinelli
