Second best in the world, Liquid are off to BLAST

Line-ups for BLAST Pro Series São Paulo and Miami announced

All teams, bar one, for the two-day events have been released.

RFRSH-operated tournament organizer BLAST Pro Series have announced a slate of teams headed to their upcoming events in São Paulo and Miami, with the events set to take place in March and April, respectively.

Until now only Astralis and MIBR had been announced for São Paulo, with the last announcement for the event coming back in December. Now RFRSH have released the names of three more teams with FaZe, Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas all headed to Brazil. There is still one spot at the event still to be announced, with RFRSH keeping their cards close to their chest in regards to their first event of the year.

The invite to the São Paulo event will mark Liquid's debut at a BLAST Pro Series event, and sees FaZe return to the circuit for the fourth time. The invites also see NiP make their second attendance at a BLAST Pro Series tournament, having last taken part at the stop in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Just under two weeks ago, Astralis and Na`Vi were announced for the BLAST Pro Series Miami event and today that list of teams has been completed. In a list similar to São Paulo, joining the two already invited teams in Florida will be Cloud9, FaZe, Liquid and MIBR.

With Liquid making their debut the month before in Brazil, they'll continue playing 2019's circuit in Miami. Having been ever-present throughout 2018, Cloud9 will make a return in their home country alongside MIBR, with the Brazilians continuing to be the joint-most invited team having attended every BLAST event since Copenhagen 2017.

The full list of teams invited to the two upcoming BLAST Pro Series events are:

São Paulo Miami
Denmark Astralis Denmark Astralis
FaZe United States Cloud9
United States Liquid FaZe
Brazil MIBR United States Liquid
Sweden NiP Brazil MIBR

BLAST Pro Series São Paulo is set to take place in the Brazilian city between March 22nd and 23rd, with BLAST Pro Series Miami hitting Florida on April 12th-13th. Both tournaments will have $250,000 on offer. Tickets for both events can be found on the BLAST Pro Series website.

In the press release, the BLAST Pro Series' Executive Producer Jordi Roig revealed that  the tournament will undergo changes by the year's end, stating: "2019 will be a groundbreaking season for BLAST with new and very exciting formats being introduced. We’ll be presenting a new Formula1 like tournament format with a new point system and a massive global final tournament at the end of the year."
