n0thing's stand-in period at the Major has concluded, with the player helping to secure compLexity a spot at the next Major

Cloud9 advance after 2-0 victory over HellRaisers; compLexity exit following close series against FaZe

Cloud9 will face off against FaZe tomorrow in an ELEAGUE Boston rematch.

Round 4 of the IEM Katowice New Legends stage has concluded, and after a tough loss against FaZe compLexity have dropped out of the tournament. The other North American hopeful, Cloud9, have advanced to Round 5 following a dominating performance against HellRaisers.

Although the North American side eventually lost against FaZe, compLexity surprised many by pushing the EU super team to its very limit in a nail-biting three map series. The action started off on Cache where compLexity started their T side with a four-round run after winning the opening pistol. FaZe would answer back on round five with a round of their own, however explosive 3ks from Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert and Rory "dephh" Jackson kept FaZe at bay helping to secure compLexity a dominating 11-4 lead at the half. Over on their T side, FaZe seemed keen to even up the score by taking four rounds of their own, however their resurgance was short-lived as compLexity closed out their map pick with five rounds in a row.

Moving onto FaZe's map pick of Mirage, the European team seemed far more comfortable as they closed out their T side with a slight 9-6 lead. As the map continued onto the second half, although compLexity would manage to acquire enough rounds to take the map to double digits, FaZe were able to close out Mirage with a 16-11 score line. However, it is worth noting that Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz did not make it easy for FaZe as the player managed a 1.4 K/D ratio while also picking up an ace during the map.

As Dust2, the final map of the series began, it was anyone's game as both teams continued to trade rounds during the first half with compLexity barely coming out on top with an 8-7 lead. As compLexity moved to their CT side, they claimed the opening pistol and the anti-eco however FaZe broke away from compLexity by going on a monster 6-round run to put the score line at 13-10. compLexity would once again show their resolve by claiming four more rounds to put victory within their grasp. However, FaZe would eventually close out the map with 16-14 finish thus booking their ticket to Round 5 tomorrow.

The second North American series of the day was a lot less contentious as the compLexity vs. FaZe series, as a dominating performance from Cloud9 battered HellRaisers to help the team continue their Major run.

Starting off on Inferno, off the back of a solid CT side start, Cloud9 won the half with a small 9-6 lead. On their T side the team continued their good form as they only allowed HellRaisers two more rounds before closing out map 1 with a 16-8 score line. During their Inferno run, Timothy "autimatic" Ta absolutely dominated HellRaisers with a 2.1 K/D ratio and 114 ADR.

As the series continued onto Cloud9's map pick of Cache, they continued to illustrate their incendiary T side as they ran over HellRaisers' defense to claim an 11-4 score at the half. HellRaisers were not prepared to concede the map however as they went on a seven-round run following a perfect T pistol to even up the score line. However, Cloud9 would end this comeback by winning five out of the next six rounds winning the series 2-0. During Cache, William "RUSH" Wierzba impressed by managing a massive 1.72 rating and 110 ADR.

With their decisive victory over HellRaisers Cloud9 are one series away from returning to the Legends spot they lost at the London Major. They will be facing off against Major rivals FaZe to see which team will advance to Top 8 tomorrow.
