Cloud9 still alive in Katowice with win over FURIA
The final game of round four was between Cloud9 and FURIA, with the winner being sent to tomorrow's round five and the losing team going home. It was an... interesting game, as the two sides faced off on Mirage, Inferno and Cache.
Mirage came up first, and FURIA started on the CT-side. From there, they went and acquired the first eight rounds in a row, before Tim "autimatic" Ta picked up a 3k with the AWP to break the streak. But that would be it for Cloud9, as FURIA secured every other round of the match to win 16-1. Three FURIA players went above 100 ADR - Rinaldo "ableJ" Moda Junior on 106.3, Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo on 107.6 and Yuri "yuurih" Santos on 143.9 and a 2.21 rating.
Inferno was a literal mirror of the first map, in regards to rounds. Cloud9 racked up eight CT-side rounds in a row before FURIA managed to pick up their sole Inferno round. From there Cloud9 pushed all the way on to the 16-1 win with two Cloud9 players sat above 100 ADR, Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey on 106.4 and autimatic on 136.2 and a 2.22 rating.
This left Cache as the decider, a much, much closer map. Cloud9 opened it with the first two rounds, before FURIA picked up the next six rounds to go into the lead. Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato pushed his team into the lead, winning a 1v3 with a bomb plant. After that Cloud9 picked up four rounds to even the half at 6-6, before the two teams traded rounds as FURIA went in at the break 8-7 ahead, only after autimatic held the A-site with a 4k.
The second half was pretty much all Cloud9's. Taking the first six rounds back-to-back, they struck up a 13-8 lead, before FURIA picked up two rounds to delay the win. But from there Cloud9 went straight to the lead, with Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro picking up a masterful 1v2 for map point. With FURIA's economy broken, Cloud9 easily wrapped up the final round for the 16-10 win.
