felps, TACO, and FalleN walk into a bar.... Oh, you've heard this one already?

Report: MIBR consider a flip to felps

At this point, who isn't speculated to be joining MIBR?

Following previous rumors surrounding MIBR's supposed new fifth, DRAFT5 has reported that the team are now considering João “felps” Vasconcellos to fill their fifth spot, with neL from VPEsports stating that the deal "is really close to be[ing] done".

This comes after numerous reports suggesting that MIBR were looking towards Vito "kNgV-" Guiseppe or Kaike "kscerato" Cerato to complete their all-Brazilian roster. However according to information given to Rush B Media, FURIA were asking upwards of $200,000 for any potential buyout of kscerato, seemingly stalling out negotiations between the two organizations.

felps would be no stranger to the Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo-led core, having played with the team during their tenure with SK, helping to propel the team to six titles and a semi-finals appearance at the ELEAGUE Boston Major. He was later benched in favor of Ricardo "boltz" Prass, and went on to play under Não Tem Como and INTZ, with his most notable appearance being with INTZ at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals in Odense.

This roster would be a nostalgic return for the team, having been ranked as the #1 team on HLTV for the majority of 2017, before running into trouble and disappointing results for the majority of 2018.

Should this move come to fruition, MIBR's roster would be:

  • Brazil Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
  • Brazil Fernando "fer" Alvarenga
  • Brazil Marcelo "coldzera" David
  • Brazil Epitacio "TACO" de Melo
  • Brazil João “felps” Vasconcellos
  • Brazil Wilton "zews" Prado (Coach)

Following their fourth place finish at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon, MIBR's first event of 2019 is set to be IEM Katowice, and it is currently unknown which five players they will bring to the event. Due to the Major roster lock deadline being on January 1st, MIBR are likely to announce their plans for 2019 sooner rather than later.
