hot ass defeat Hyper to claim ESEA Main Season 29
The eloquently named hot ass have been crowned the champions of ESEA Main Season 29 after a comprehensive victory over Josh "Daemos" Hayes and his Hyper squad.
Hyper had reached the grand final after their own drubbing of Serac, in which they held their opponents to just seven rounds over two maps.
hot ass had a more trying time in their own semifinal, where they went the distance versus Buffdaddy's PayPal Team, a squad featuring Matthew "mCe" Elmore and Ian "Tex" Botsch on alternate accounts.
In the grand final, things started off competitively on Train, with hot ass holding a narrow 8-7 lead after the first half. The side switch did Hyper no favors, as they only got one more round in the map before hot ass steamrolled to a 16-8 victory.
Inferno followed the same blueprint as Train, with hot ass leading 9-6 at the half and then ultimately taking a 16-7 victory. Over the two map series, it was Stephen "Huston" Huston doing the most damage for his squad.

As the top eight teams were moved up to Advanced last season, it is likely that these teams will find themselves in the division next season. It will be the first time for the majority of them, with the exceptions of Hyper and tNt, who both achieved dismal records there in Season 28.
