compLexity fall to x6tence Galaxy in DreamHack Open Winter group decider

Bravado are North America's last hopes.

compLexity have been eliminated from DreamHack Open Winter with a 2-0 loss to the Swedish team x6tence Galaxy in the Group A decider match (11-16 Nuke and Inferno). This ironically leaves the South African side of Bravado as North America's last hope in the event, with many NA pros cheering on the team in their first big playoffs debut.

The series began on x6tence Galaxy's map pick of Nuke, with the Swedish side taking eight rounds straight on their CT side to kick off the map with little contention from compLexity. The North Americans finally replied back in the ninth round, managing to narrow the deficit to an 4-8 scoreline before the Swedes put another round on the board. This time compLexity were able to battle back, taking the final two rounds of the half for themselves to trail 6-9 at the half as they swapped to their CT side.

The second pistol round went the way of compLexity, allowing them close the gap between themselves and x6tence Galaxy to just a single round. The Swedes kept the lead just out of reach by picking up a round of their own, but were quickly reset as compLexity won out a retake to tie up the score at 10-10. The two teams traded rounds, with compLexity taking a win to even the score once again at 11-11, but x6tence Galaxy were quick to reply as the secured themselves five rounds straight to close the map 16-11 in their favor.

compLexity's pick of Inferno began with the Swedes once again taking the lead, although this time they weren't able to get quite as far and managed just four rounds before compLexity were able to put one on the board themselves. x6tence Galaxy were quick to fight back and picked up another round, but compLexity kept up the pace by taking two of their own to trail by two rounds.

Again, x6tence Galaxy retaliated with a round of their own, but compLexity stabilized and edged out the lead at the end of the half by taking the final five rounds for an 8-7 scoreline at the half.

x6tence Galaxy won their third pistol round of the series, granting them control of the economy on the T side of Inferno. With that in hand, the Swedes went on a seven round streak to snatch the lead away from compLexity, putting themselves in touching distance of a win at 14-8. compLexity battled back for one round of their own, but match point went to x6tence Galaxy in the following round and they were quick to close out the series after compLexity managed just two more rounds on the map.
