iBUYPOWER announce (not) fourth Masters event
Computer manufacturer iBUYPOWER have announced the third of their Masters events, entitled iBUYPOWER Masters IV. Since there have only been two previous events, we can only assume they are counting 2015's iBUYPOWER Cup as part of the series.
The event will feature a $200,000 prize pool, twice as much as the previous edition, with eight invited teams taking part in the competition. The event itself is set to take place at the Avalon Theatre Hollywood in Los Angeles, California over two days, January 19th and 20th.
The last edition of the tournament was the iBUYPOWER Masters 2017, which saw Cloud9 lift the trophy after a 2-0 win over Renegades. The last iBUYPOWER sponsored event that took place was the Spring Invitational earlier this year, which NRG won over Liquid in a 2-0 scoreline.
The schedule and format of the competition, with the groups in a GSL format and the playoffs in a single elimination bracket, has been provided to Dust2.us and is as follows, with all times in EST:
