Vitality crush Rogue; to DH Open Atlanta playoffs
With three of the four teams determined in the playoffs of DreamHack Open Atlanta, the final group stage match between Vitality and Rogue kicked off in the decider match of Group B.
The series opened up on Nuke, with Rogue starting on CT-side in the first half. Vitality overpowered Rogue, going up 7-1. Spencer "Hiko" Martin and Rogue slowly began to find more rounds, taking the last three of the half to take a 6-9 scoreline at halftime. In the second half, Cédric "RpK" Guipouy crushed Rogue on the CT-side, as Vitality took seven straight rounds to close the map 16-6.
The series moved on to Overpass, where Vitality quickly found five of the first six rounds, putting them in the lead 5-1. Rogue quickly flipped the scoreline, with Hunter "SicK" Mims — who had underperformed on Nuke — pulling out a sick performance, taking nine straight rounds off Vitality to take the lead in the first half 10-5.
Vitality rebounded in the second half, taking back the lead with Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt winning Vitality eleven straight rounds to steal the map 16-10. Vitality close out the series 2-0, eliminating Rogue from contention. The French team move on to the playoffs, where they will take on compLexity in the semifinals.
