Cloud9 replace Renegades at ECS Season 6 Finals; talent announced

A clash with Toyota Masters Bangkok sees the Oceanic side decide to stay in that part of the world.

ECS has announced that after a successful season with new additions Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai and Jay "liazz" Tregillgas, Renegades previously booked ticket to the ECS Season 6 Finals has been torn up and reprinted in favor of Cloud9 due to "visa issues and scheduling conflicts".

With a majority Oceanic lineup, Renegades are back home to participate in the Asia Minor Oceania Closed Qualifier taking place on November 18th through to the 19th, and are slated to appear at Toyota Masters Bangkok, which will overlap the ECS Finals from the 21st to the 25th.

In the case of Cloud9, their mediocre season filled with roster changes and the retiring of Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham caused the team to finish in 5th place with a 10-8 record. The move results in NRG maintaining their top spot, MIBR taking the second seed and Liquid the third.

The team list for ECS S6 Finals will now look as such:

Denmark Astralis United States NRG
Denmark North Brazil MIBR
mousesports Liquid
Sweden NiP Cloud9

While it hasn't been officially announced, it's within the realm of possibility that Soham "valens" Chowdhury will reprise his role as Cloud9's temporary stand-in as Maikil "Golden" Selim continues to recover from an illness in Sweden.

ECS have also announced the talent attending the finals event, which includes:

  •  Alex "Machine" Richardson - Desk Host
  •  Pala "Pala" Gilroy Sen - Stage Host
  •  Freya Spiers - Interviewer

  • United States Jason "moses" O'Toole - Analyst
