BLAST goes intercontinental

BLAST announce Copenhagen talent and event in Miami

The Danish tournament organizer drops a lot of information for their tournaments.

RFRSH, the company behind the BLAST Pro Series events, have announced the talent lineup for their upcoming Copenhagen stop of their circuit. There'll be twelve members of talent, with a sizeable North American contingent.

The $250,000 event is set to kick off this Friday at the sold-out Royal Arena in Copenhagen, where MIBR will open up against Astralis and Cloud9 will face Natus Vincere in the first round. The talent team to bring you the event is full of notable figures in the CS:GO scene.

With the hosting team made up of Brits Adam Savage and Paul "Redeye" Chaloner, Alex "Machine" Richardson joins the analyst desk. Alongside him on the desk will be Christine "potter" Chi, making her return to the desk after working at BLAST Pro Series Istanbul. The desk is rounded out by familiar faces Mathieu "Maniac" Quiqerez and Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill.

The commentary team sees three pairings take to the microphones. Once again, the Scrawnders duo of Conner "Scrawny" Girvan and Mohan "launders" Govindasamy make a BLAST appearance, and are joined by long-term partnerships Anders Blume & Jason "moses" O'Toole and Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett & Henry "HenryG" Greer.

Shortly before the talent announcement was made, four other BLAST Pro Series events were announced. The first is set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, between December 14th-15th. It'll be the final stop on BLAST's 2018 circuit, featuring a $250,000 prizepool and held at the 20,000-seater Altice Arena in the Portuguese capital. Tickets for the Lisbon event are available now.

The team list for the December event is a familiar one, set to be the same lineup as the Copenhagen event but so far without Natus Vincere. The final invited team will be announced before the tournament takes place in December. The full team list is as follows:

Denmark Astralis United States Cloud9
FaZe Brazil MIBR
Sweden NiP World TBD

A further three locations were announced for 2019, out of an eight-event calendar for the year. The first two events of 2019, set to be held in São Paulo and Miami, will be the first time the BLAST Pro Series heads across the Atlantic, out of Europe and into the Americas. The final event of those announced will be in the Spanish capital of Madrid.

More information on the events, including arena locations, actual dates and competing teams, as well as the full 2019 calendar will be released at a later date.
