A disappointing end to a promising tie

Na`Vi take apart MIBR 2-0; to Grand Final

The Ukrainian team secure the win and head to the final in quick fashion.

The first semifinal at the FACEIT London Major was a potential thriller, between the Brazilian-American team of MIBR and CIS powerhouse of Na`Vi. The vetos saw them face off on Overpass, Dust2 and finalized with Train.

Na`Vi opened up the first semifinal by picking up the T-side pistol round, taking the initial score lead, before seeing the first buy round going the way of MIBR after an intense bout of trading leaving just Jake "Stewie2K" Yip remaining. From there the Brazilian-American team took enough rounds for a brief lead, and it was only brief with Na`Vi coming out to retake their lead. From there the half was Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's domain, albeit ignoring one round where Marcelo "coldzera" David helped himself to two Deagle kills for an eco round win.

The Ukrainians went in as 10-5 leaders and took no prisoners in the second half, securing five rounds in a row right at the start to take map point. MIBR weren't out just yet, however, with Fernando "fer" Alvarenga and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo making it a more respectable scoreline for their team. That was all they were allowed, as an Egor "flamie" Vasilyev 3k secured the map for his team at 16-10.

Dust2 followed, and it was Na`Vi who once again came out in control. s1mple helped pull his team forward, alongside electronic, as they raced to a seven round lead without any response from MIBR. When the Americas squad finally intervened it was in an pistol-force round, with Tarik "tarik" Celik and FalleN helping their team avoid a repeat of last week's display. electronic and Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko then came back with a forcebuy round of their own, making sure they remained in control at the end of the half, 10-3.

The final two rounds of the half went MIBR's way but they were still 10-5 behind. The second half commenced with Na`Vi taking the pistol round again, meaning they had secured all four of the pistol rounds of the series. From there they, predictably, picked up the next two anti-eco rounds, before comfortably claiming the next two rounds to secure map point. This time it was inevitable, with s1mple closing the game out for a 16-5 win.
