The final two teams in the qualifier for the event in New York are confirmed
The final open qualifier for the MSI MGA North America tournament has concluded, and the final two teams headed for the closed qualifier have been confirmed.
The first team through was Fam143, whose journey through the bracket wasn't too difficult for them. Picking up a first-round bye, they then blew their way through Skyline, FOCAL Point and pug4life before their qualifying match against QCCLAN. Although a slightly closer match, a 16-9 was all it took for them to progress to the next part of the competition. Fam143 were seen playing with Gabriel "GMAN" Ordaz, who had been on VAULT's roster this season, and coach Justin "NEX" McLellan.
Ace High, a team of relative unknowns, had to go through some Advanced teams on their qualification route. Although they secured a bye in the first round, they then faced Unkind and Spot Up, 16-10 and 16-9 wins respectively, before taking down Uber To Your Crib 16-10 to reach the semifinals. Their final game was against proximity, and Ace High overcame them with a 19-16 overtime thriller on Inferno, from which they joined Fam143 in the closed qualifier.
This leaves the list of teams in the MSI MGA North America Closed Qualifier as:
|Ace High||Andrews Big Toe|
The closed qualifier is set to begin next Saturday, August 11th. One one of the 14 teams in the closed qualifier will qualify for the four-team MSI MGA Finals set to be held at ESL One New York.
