Will Montreal be able to live up to its 2017 predecessor?

DreamHack Montreal to be invite-only

The $100,000 event returns to Montreal with no qualifiers.

DreamHack has confirmed that DreamHack Montreal, the next stop in the DreamHack Open circuit for 2018, will not feature qualifiers for its CS:GO event.

Marc "Nix0n" Winther, the project manager for DreamHack's CS:GO events, stated on Twitter that DreamHack chose to forgo qualifiers, citing a busy schedule due to Minor qualifiers and other events.

DreamHack Montreal is set to begin on September 7th following the end of the player break and during the New Challengers Stage of the FACEIT Major. The event will trail the ZOTAC Cup Masters and DreamHack Masters Stockholm, two $250,000 events which will take place before the Major.

No teams have been confirmed for the event as of yet, however as the event overlaps with the first stage of the upcoming Major, it is likely the event will feature teams from MDL and other teams that were unable to qualify, such as NRG.
