tyfoon and Smiley top FPL-C season, qualify for FPL (maybe)

Grins are full as Smiley (probably) makes his way into FPL.

With the month comes to a close, the July season of FPL-C has come to an end, with Marian "tyfoon" Lesnic and Randy "Smiley" Sandoval, two main-stays of the top 2 in the past few weeks, topping the leaderboards.

Rank Name Points Prize
1.  Marian "tyfoon" Lesnic 1396 $1,250 + FPL
2. Canada Randy "Smiley" Sandoval 1304 $750 + FPL
3. United States "Leaf" 1300 $500
4. United States Brandon "BOOBIE" Robert 1256 $250
5. United States Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk 1244 $250

After reaching the top 5 on multiple occasions, Alexander "zander" Diaz was knocked down to 6th in the final days of the month, with Leaf, Brandon "BOOBIE" Robert, and Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk storming the top 5. Similarly, Caleb "jaychancE" Davis finished in 7th after placing in the top 5 in the first two weeks of the month.

Leaf and cxzi both remained fairly low at the start of the season, but slowly began to climb near the end of the month. With the July month serving as they debut season, both players reached the top 5, with Leaf just 4 points shy of placing 2nd and qualifying for FPL. Huston, another player that made it into FPL-C from the May qualifier, finished well below his fellow newcomers in 38th.

The next qualifiers for FPL Challenger will play out on August 11th and 12th, with invitations being sent out to eligible players today.

After an announcement that several players in FPL Europe would face consequences for alleged rigging, it was revealed that investigations into North America are ongoing as well:
