Wardell and Ghost did not surrender double digits during their run

Ghost, eUnited and more through to MSI MGA Playoffs

A slightly different format in North America sees more teams have a chance of heading to New York.

The first qualifier for the $60,000 MSI MGA occurred yesterday. While in the other three regions qualifier spots are being earned on the basis of accrued points across qualifiers, in North America ESEA have decided to use a more straight-forward approach. As such, six teams have progressed to the Playoffs directly as a result of play yesterday.

Moving through in the upper bracket were Pro sides Ghost and eUnited, who had relatively little troubles, even with the latter fielding Jack "xCeeD" Holiman in place of Brandon "Ace" Winn due to the sniper being in the process of moving.

Also through with clean sheets were Anthony "vanity" Malaspina's Gorilla Gang, as well as 6-10 ESEA Main side Morituri, who shocked MDL team Vireo.pro.

Fortunately for Donovan "zNf" Froid and friends, they were able to recover against fellow MDL side Forty Six & Two, with the final spot being claimed by the Brazilians of FURIA.

The full qualifier bracket is available here.

The team list for the MSI MGA Playoffs is currently:

eUnited Brazil FURIA
Canada Ghost United States Gorilla Gang
United States Morituri United States Vireo.pro

For teams who missed this first qualifier, or participated but fell short, there are two more chances to reach the Regional Playoffs, with eight spots on offer. You can find those links from our trusty Calendar page!
