$60,000 MSI Masters Gaming Arena to take place at ESL One New York

New York will play host to a second tournament in addition to ESL One this year.

ESL and MSI have announced a partnership that will see an auxillary event taking place alongside ESL One New York this year.

The MSI Masters Gaming Arena will see four teams from Europe, CIS, North America, and Asia do battle in Brooklyn, with the grand final taking place immediately prior to that of the main event (hey, it is better than Krewella.) The winning team will take home the biggest chunk of the events $60,000 prize pool.

The path to the event will be a long one, however, with three open qualifiers on July 21, July 28, and August 4. The first two qualifiers will see six teams advance to the regional playoffs, whereas the third will only send two forward.

The playoffs themselves will take place in a single-elimination best-of-three fashion, and presumably feature two invited squads to bring the total number of teams to sixteen. Teams such as eUnited, Ghost, compLexity, and Rogue will likely be eager earn a trip to New York after falling short in the qualifiers for the main event.

Registration for the qualifiers is available now on ESEA.
