ShahZaM's strong AWPing was not enough to carry compLexity to the semifinals

FURIA send compLexity packing in Santa Ana

compLexity's grand final aspirations have been shattered by FURIA.

compLexity have long sought to be an up-and-coming team in North America and with the additions of Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan to the roster, the North Americans looked to take the Americas finals by storm and prove themselves as a top team in North America.

compLexity started off with the confidence they needed on Inferno, winning the first nine rounds on the CT side thanks to an excellent performance from Rory "dephh" Jackson. Towards the end of the first half, the North Americans began to stumble as FURIA were able to take five rounds for themselves. Despite this, compLexity still ended the first half with a 10-5 score, giving themselves a strong surplus of rounds.

The second half continued in a similar fashion, with dephh and ShahZaM standing out as the star players. compLexity dominated the Brazillians on the T-side, taking six straight rounds and closing out the first map 16-5.

However, despite the solid first map and boost of confidence for compLexity, the North Americans' woes began to accumulate on Nuke. Despite compLexity starting off on the CT-side, FURIA were able to steal rounds for themselves as Kaike "kscerato" Cerato helped carry his team through the tough map to an 8-7 half.

In a similar fashion to FURIA , compLexity slowly began to take rounds on the T-side with both sides trading short streaks of rounds back and forth. Once again, ShahZaM performed exceptionally with the AWP outside, however Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor's frags continued well into the second half. Down at a 11-14 scoreline, compLexity pushed the game back into their favor all the way to 15-14 in their favor, but were unable to close out the final round, pushing the game into overtime.

Starting on the CT side, FURIA were able to take advantage of their side, winning all three rounds in the first half of overtime off the back of kscerato. Just one round away from taking Nuke, Furia were unfazed by compLexity's CT side, taking the final round and taking the second map 19-15.

Equalized at 1-1, the first series in Santa Ana was off to a competitive start. However, compLexity's strength had waned in the third map of the series off a poor overtime performance on Nuke. FURIA swiped away a majority of the rounds in the first half thanks to kscerato continuing to perform exceptionally, with compLexity only accumulating five before halftime.

In the second half, FURIA continued to give compLexity a taste of their own medicine, as the North Americans could only scramble a single round win together before the Brazillians closed the series with a 16-6 victory on Train, wrapping up the series 2-1.
