The Pioneers venture to the dark side, join BlackOut

It has been a long journey, but the organization finally has re-entered Counter-Strike.

After making headlines with the not signing of F1-racecar-PEEK, BlackOut have finally found a squad to call their own. The team that will be donning the organization's colors is none other than Connor "CONNOR93" Glover's The Pioneers, who recently underwent a massive roster overhaul.

Since forming in early April, the team has achieved some decent results, reaching the final of the DreamHack Austin Closed Qualifier where they fell to Rogue. They additionally currently are sitting at 7-5 in MDL, and made an appearance in the Americas Minor Closed Qualifier, though went out there in last place.

BlackOut's roster is now:

  • Canada Connor "CONNOR93" Glover
  • United States Chad "oderus" Miller
  • United States Collin "wrath" McSweegan
  • United States Michael "MAiNLiNE" Jaber
  • United States Jeremy "Jeremy9000" Gray (Coach/Manager)

Notably absent from the announcement is Sebastian "seb" Bucki. Dust2.us have been informed this is due to the players contract with Ghost still being in effect. It is expected seb will sign with BlackOut when his current contract expires. In the meantime, the team have been playing with Ryan "GRAMPZ" Baber in MDL.

The team are not currently scheduled for their next MDL matches, but they will come against Dignitas and Vireo.pro. All three teams currently reside in the top eight teams in the league, and will be hopeful of making playoff appearances.

BlackOut plan to send the team to represent the organization at Tokyo in Tulsa, Fragadelphia, and the NSG Cougar Open in Washington D.C.
