ZOTAC Cup Masters Closed Qualifier Day 1: Dignitas, boxr eliminated
The group stage of the ZOTAC Cup Masters North America Closed Qualifier has concluded, and seven teams have been ousted.
Shockingly included in this group are MDL side Dignitas, and EPL team boxr (ex-Splyce). While it was thought that boxr would be playing the event with Kristjan "fejtZ" Allsaar, they instead fielded coach Zachary "Eley" Stauffer.
Likewise being eliminated from the tournament were MDL teams AZIO, Squirtle Squad, Gorilla Gang and Prospects, as well as Nick "N4j" Norman's Wise.
Despite an opening map scare against AZIO, compLexity managed to advance to the playoff stage, as did fellow EPL member Rogue, who were handed the top seed in the qualifier.
The quarterfinal matchups of the playoff stage, commencing today at 4 PM EDT, are as follows:

The two teams who emerge on top of the bracket will earn spots at the Americas Regional, which will be held at the end of the month in California and have $20,000 on offer.
