x1 Mob pick up NSG Academy Showcase LAN win
In a single day, April 14th, the N3rd Street Gamers ran their NSG Academy Showcase LAN in Philadelphia, with $1,600 on offer. At the end of it all, after a few unfortunate delays, a prize pot split and a best-of-one final saw Shawn "witmer" Taylor and the x1 Mob be crowned champions.
Their journey to the final was almost flawless, dropping only one map on their way from groups to the final itself. Their opponents The Squirtle Squad, headed up by ex-Iceberg coach Michael "agM" Abood, found themselves in a similar unbeaten run, until they met the Mob in the final, losing 16-12. However due to the delays at the event, the two sides agreed to split the prize pool evenly.
The 3rd/4th place decider saw Top 1 Percent take on Mock's Anime Aimers, with the latter team losing 16-10, confirming the split in prizes.
As such, the top four teams at the event were:
