Venue for the MDL Global Challenge S27 is set
ESL and ESEA have announced that their MDL Global Challenge for S27 will be held at the ESL Studios in Leicester, UK from May 9th-13th. Like last time, the event will be split into two parts, the Pro League relegation tournament and the Global Challenge itself.
May 9th-10th will play host to the ESL Pro League relegation tournament for Europe and North America, with a full schedule yet to be released. With the ESL Pro League Season 7 still taking place, the teams taking part in the relegation tournament are yet to be confirmed. ESL's press release also states that the North American league is set to remain at the reduced number of 12 teams, as the 10th and 11th placed teams will head to Leicester.
Before that, however, the final of the MDL season will take place, with eUnited and Swole Patrol still waiting to see who'll secure the league's top spot and the automatic promotion spot for ESL Pro League Season 8. The European division is also awaiting their victor, with Windigo and BIG waiting to take the crown.
The Global Challenge itself is set for the rest of the weekend, May 11th-13th. There the top three teams from the North American and European MDL will face off against ORDER from Australia and YeaH! from Brazil, who secured qualification last night, for a share of the $50,000 prize pool.
